Introduction
HJ Bosch & Sons Panel Beaters is a family-owned business with a legacy dating back to 1969. Our top-quality service has established HJ Bosch & Sons Panel Beaters as a leader in the industry and we are proud to be a preferred supplier for all major insurance companies. We aim to restore vehicles, protect our customer’s investments, and provide them with personalised service throughout the process.

With 50 years’ experience as a premier panel beating workshop in Gauteng, we know the ins and outs of the auto repair industry.

In addition to growing our national footprint through the business format of franchising our growth strategy includes expanding our business into rural areas where there is a shortage of insurance-approved panel beaters.

All our franchisees are 100 % Black owned enterprise and therefore Level 1 BEE contributors. While insurers are focused on providing volume-based deals to a small number of repairers, with the promise of cost saving, the challenge for the Motor Body Repair Sector is to find synergy between its current industry models and practices and the vision and efforts of the government to drive economic transformation.

Benefits of being a franchisee

Initial training and support include:

  • Site establishment
  • Supplier negotiations
  • Costing
  • Staff sourcing and training
  • Accreditation
  • Insurance panel registration

Our comprehensive training ensures that franchisees are able to deliver the level of service and standard of workmanship customers have come to expect from HJ Bosch & Sons.

The automotive industry is constantly changing and presenting us with new challenges. We consider education and training an important aspect of our franchise offering and likewise staying at the forefront of development in this ever-evolving industry should be important to our franchisees.

All franchisees must become a MerSETA (Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority) training provider. The facilitation of the training process by MerSETA includes the paying of discretionary grants which will enable the franchisee to train. We will assist with the discretionary grant application process as well as offer guidance and assistance with the recruitment of apprentices, and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report to MerSETA. In addition, franchisees will benefit greatly from our established relationships with insurance companies and original equipment manufacturers (OEM). We also provide guidance regarding site selection and lease negotiations.

Location requirements

Finding the right location creates market potential and our outstanding business model actualizes the potential. An HJ Bosch & Sons Panel Beaters outlet typically occupies between 1,500m² and 2,000m² of which approximately 1,500m² must be under roof in an industrial and preferably rural area. The site must have 3-phase electricity, excellent road access, great visibility, sufficient passing traffic and the right demographics.
